Sure, Alvarez won 35 out of his 52 wins (almost 70% of his wins) in Mexico.
And maybe he did fight guys like Francisco Villanueva (ranked 432 on BoxRec) multiple times (3x for Francisco)and Euri Gonzalez (ranked 914).
But we all know the diva don't fight guys he don't like. so maybe we shouldn't hold it against him.

Well we know that Mexico ranks 2nd in pro boxers and we also know that Canelo started his pro career @ 15 years old..so???? I would just call those 35 ameture wins

Canelo started boxing when he was like 15. I don't see a problem with his record. JCC Sr did similar and fought a lot of bad fighters. That doesn't make him any less than what he was.

It doesn't matter, we don't hold the prospect part of a fighters career against them.

We judge based off of the championship years.

Are we supposed to hold him fighting scrubs in his teens against him?

He also had a few losses removed from his record in Mexico

I’ll be back when I can think of an unfair criticism.
