Not really my guy...I think he is/was a great fighter though.

Yeah that would be lame...I haven't really seen him say exactly what his record is though...part of me cares exactly what it is and part of me doesn't care at all...the accomplishments he had as an am. speak for themselves really.

Which was kind of my point in making that post...that you guys focusing on that detail is kind of missing the boat with his am. career...we know what the main accolades were and those speak for themselves.

I don't really make a ton of threads on here...and I appreciate your seemingly well-intentioned advice...but I don't really view myself as doing anything on here except calling things how I see them...a lot of times that ends up turning to a discussion about GGG because he is a hot button topic on here.

But I promise I don't care at all about how I am viewed on here, or really about the views of others on here...no offense but I think there is a very very small percentage on here who keep it pretty real...so I'm not really trying to please anyone on here...just here to talk boxing and maybe bust balls from time to time.

And no offense, sincerely...but I don't call GGG 'King GGG' or some sh.it like you do with Beterbiev and many do with Canelo...and let's be real, you and those 2 fine gentlemen were talking sh.it, so I responded talking some sh.it...you can't talk sh.it and then claim the moral high ground man...if you talk sh.it on an anonymous online forum, rest assured someone will be there to respond to you...just how it goes my friend.

And tbh I'm glad GGG got paid at the end of his career and hope he retires with all his faculties...but honestly I would say that about just about any fighter...whatever else happens in his career or any other fighter's, well just let the best man win and I will try to call it like I see it.

200 amateur fights wasn't enough to build that amateur cred. Real amateurs win 300+ fights

Honestly what freaked me out more than anything is I was always under the assumption that amateurs had record keepers
And to bullchit about your record is quite sad imo
Like I’ve told you before , I was a great supporter of GGG until I kind of started getting turned off , especially the begging for a fight with Canelo
And by the way , the King chit is cause he’s been called that in the Montreal papers and other publications
I’m a gambler , so I only get crushes on boxers who make me money , I never bet with my heart

Fair enough...I like AB too man...he is a beast for sure...I don't blame GGG for waiting on Canelo...that was always his money and legacy fight imho.

In any event I hope we get some good fights around those weight classes this year...seems like it could be a bit of a wasted year from 147-175

I talk shyt about GGG but i don't forget how dudes were hesitant to fight him when he was mandatory for the 160 strap!

And let me repeat what i said... What does that make Canelo? Canelo and GGG both great fighters, but GGG was disappointing with his selection of opponents between big fights. And his reluctance and flat out lies about pursuit of greatness!
                    I see contradicting points here.

First, GGG vs Canelo 1 wasn’t a WAR. It was fight where two guys BET on the point system. ONe focused on clean effective shots, which didn’t have much output yet still landed, while the other coasted to just throw a jab and accumulate points. the DRAW was justified. If in boxing boxers were penalized by just throwing a jab the whole fight while missing 1/3 of them, Canelo would have a land slide. Because the POINT system saves GGG is fine, even if people think he beat Canelo by the point system whatever, at the end of the day, for a guy whom trains or wants to see NEW things and dynamics, Canelo all day. GGG didn’t do jack shet the first fight, and Canelo’s compubox in the first fight will forever be written. As Floyd said about GGG, “straight up and down no SFX.”

Guess what. HEre comes the second fight, and Canelo fights even better. The second time around the judges aren’t as impressed as the first and forget about the point system of lazy jabs from the first fight. In the end of their story, Canelo, being dragged into the GGG narrative, is still the better boxer. More fights to come with Canelo too. GGG bet his legacy on Canelo. Could’ve been campaigning at 168 LONG AGO. It’s his fans that don’t know shet about boxing. GGG is just another proxy for fans to have used for the ones that wanted to see Canelo lose.

I’m actually glad that Canelo stole Ward’s shine with GGG. Good things come to those whom wait. 154–168 year right...

not shock world but lets give credit where credit is due, a good reign after beating lemieux, for 3 years till losing to canelo, and it included 2 top contender defences, no shame in that.

hes not even finished either, hes got a title again, so great things can still happen. Its daft to close the curtain on someone still active at top level.
