weird ironic twist of fate for MAYWEATHER????

Mayweather has been fighting a lot of guys in or near their prime on his trip up to super-stardom. Corrales and castillo 2x were some of his biggest fights. Mayweather has always stated that he's gonna fight the best they got out there.

But his next few fights that he has lined up are probably the biggest fights of his career, and they could potential destroy his reputation in the eyes of fans. He is fighting Baldomir (probably), Mosley, and DLH. All old fighters who are far past their primes. He just recently destroyed Gatti, another fighter past his prime.

WIll this become a "thing" in mayweathers career, and something historians can discuss in relation to why Mayweather WAS NOT the greatest ever like he claims he is?????

Even if they are past his prime, those 3 have the best chance to beat Mayweather. Look at how Hopkins was he was in his prime for 10 straight years. After losing to Taylor everyone said that Tarver would school him easily. They were wrong.

I disagree. Both Mosley and Baldy are at the pick. DLH does not look bad either.

Majority of the people on this board believe that Mayweather still hasnt fought anyone...

Whether it is new up and comers or old champions he is still going to get flack.

When you are on top everyone tries to bring you down and think of every reason as to why you shouldnt be at the top....Just part of the hate game.

Take it from me I like Floyd. There is nothing he can do to become the best ever. There just aren't enough truly GREAT opponents for him to beat. I think of him as similar to Sugar Ray Leonard. There are no Haglers or Hearns or Durans for Floyd to fight. Its unfortunate, and he is only further tarnishing his reputation by not fighting the best of what is available over the slast 3 years.

I think he is fighting Baldomir at his very best. Not saying he's a great fighter, but this is the best time to fight the guy if you ever fight him.

Mosley is not in his prime and is kinda going downhill. Still he is stronger than PBF and still has enough speed to trouble PBF.

DLH can still fight very well. He has never been hurt really bad, so not a lot of miles on his odometer. Also, he is one of the most skilled fighters in the world. This may be the first time Floyd would fight someone as skilled as himself.

Why would anyone consider these 3 a bad string of fights?

Mosley only looked so good because he was in against a lifeless fighter...Mayweather would murder him.

Baldomir wouldnt be bad but I would like to see Baldomir fight a different guy than Zab/Gatti who have way to many flaws to even consider him being as good as the other top 4 fighters ranked in the top 5 at welterweight.

DLH looked great against Mayorga but once again against an inferior opponent...DLH stands no chance against a prime and fresh Mayweather.

Id like to see Mayweather be a thorn in Arums side and KTFO of Margarito and then go straight to DLH....But these are only wishes.

if he can go up the 154 their are plenty of outstanding talents out their for him to fight.

winky, taylor(maybe), Margarito (should be up there). and at 147 hes got hatton. I think everyone in that list (besides margarito) has a decent shot at beating mayweather.

Taylor would beat him. WInky vs Mayweather would be a bore, but would be important. id take mayweather.

Taylor already has an amazing resume for his young age. Hopkins twice and a draw with winky?
If taylor fought mayweather at 154, and mayweather won. that would be a great fight to bring up when discussing weather or not mayweather was the best ever

CERTAINLY not bad. they both have a decent shot at beating mayweather. But there is no doubt that all these guys are over the hill. they arent as good as they used to be.

That could be brought up as a bad side of mayweathers career, and could really be holding him back from being the greatest ever.

I didn't realize we were talking about a move to 154 which I don't think would suit Floyd well. At 154 he might have problems especially against Winky. If he beat Winky, DLH, Mosley, Hatton, Cotto, and Taylor I would consider discussing him as one of the top fighters of all-time. As much as I like Floyd's skills I just don't know that Hatton or Cotto or DLH and Mosley at this point are truly ELITE fighters (like all-time greats). But hey if Floyd could do that he would deserve a lot of praise no doubt
