Hopefully he made good money and calls it a day, he is still 33 years old, unfortunately fighters that start that young as a pro doesn't end up that great when they are still in their 30s.

And yes, I believe the winner was supposed to face the winner of Khan/Maidana and it was so damn easy to make back then.
Remember when Tim was supposed to fight Maidana and Maidana pulled out with a "back injury"? Lol
I believe Bradley was about to enter litigation with Shaw after the Alexander fight because he signed with TR later that Summer or early Fall to put him on the path to face Manny.
I hated Tim for not fighting Khan at that time, but Tim got the last laugh (career wise) between Khan and Alexander, though Khan isn't doing too bad nowadays.

What's crazy is that I completely forgot that Devon beat Maidana and Mathysse in back to back fights! I vaguely remember him outpointing El Chino but I have no recollection of his win over La Machina. He's definitely fought some huge names and has wins over some of them as well. Not always an exciting fighter but can't question his willingness to take on tough competition.
I could be wrong, but I don't think anybody else from 140-147 (at that time) fought both Maidana and Matthysse...Devon deserves a nod for that.
He won a close decision against Lucas...and this was months after he reportedly quit against Bradley. He boxed Maidana's ears off, which prompted Chino to work with Robert Garcia afterwards to become a better fighter.
Nobody quits against Tim and goes on to face a prime and dangerous Matthysse 5 month later, lol.
