  • Comments Thread For: Russell: Nyambayar Still Can Become World Champion, Just Like Jo Jo Diaz

ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania Gary Russell Jr. walked away from his fight against Tugstsogt Nyambayar with the same feeling he had after he beat Joseph Diaz Jr. Russell out-boxed Nyambayar, too, but the previously unbeaten Mongolian impressed Russell in their 12-round featherweight title fight Saturday night at PPL Center. The 2012 Olympic silver medalist's toughness struck Russell, who thinks Nyambayar can learn from this first professional defeat and, like Diaz, come back to win a world title.

I was extremely impressed with Nyambayar.
Definitely one to watch as a future world champ.
I suspect no one is going to give him another chance unless it is another mandatory.

The first thing I thought of during the fight was that Nyambayar can become world champion some day. He should take a few fights to get some more experience and then give it another go.

        Gary is right

Gary taught jo jo and king tug some valuable lessons for sure... King tug used to be more aggressive with joe goosen in his corner...

He’s going to be a champ for sure. I jumped on wagon a bit soon in believing it was his time but he’s still on course. He has no weaknesses.

Go on now Groundhog, you made your annual appearance against a nobody as usual now burrow til next year. With all the meaningless trinkets out there I am sure he will hold one of the 10 WBA belts in his division.

King Tug has the goods, he just went up against a fighter on a higher level. The GRJ haters will call him a bum, but people who know the sport, know better! Tug is only 27, so he has plenty of time to shine! It's gonna be tough because most fighters won't fight him unless they're forced to!

                  You are absolutely correct.
As i stated earlier he is going to be avoided like the plague unless its a mandatory fight.
He is a real problem for anyone.
He really pushed GRJ to the very limit.
