World Boxing Council President Maurcio Sulaiman has revealed that his organization has lowed the amount of rounds for all regional title fights. Any regional title will now be contested at no more than the ten round limit. Only world championship and silver championship fights will be mandated for the twelve round distance.

That's absurd. Incidents of severe injuries are usually the result of a prolonged beating rather than a flash knock out so as far as I'm concerned this is a good change

It could mean fights are fought at a faster pace too, so it might make them more entertaining. Look at kickboxing, 3x3 rounds, fast paced, KOs. I'm not suggesting boxing does that but I don't think going down to 9 or 10 diminishes the sport at all but does make it safer

Good idea especially after the 3 fighters who died last year. Certain things in the sport need to change in order to keep it alive/promote it's growth

no need for the regional title either to be honest ditch that along with the 2 rounds, they are not real title anyway
