Are you serious? Judging a fighter based on training videos? In the post above, I mentioned several fighters that went the distance with the "80s Mike Tyson" and they aren't even big names. He looked good in the 80s because he fought a lot of cab-driver level fighters and yesteryear fighters that were too late to retire.

A Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis beat a Tyson in any era.
you made some good points there the competition in the 80s was pretty average compared to the 90s but at the same time a 80s Mike was much more explosive much faster back then.he lost some of that in the 90s.Cus death played a major role in that.New trainers held his potential back as well.I believe 80s Mike would have put up a better fight in my opinion

Mike Tyson in his life up until that point, had suffered bigger loses.

Good Fight anyway, Mike Tyson did not just disappear in any of his loses when he Was met with resistance 'There seems to be a stereotype that he did etc'.

I agree, that Mike fought hard against Douglas, Evander, and even Lennox. He stood in there until he got pasted. I think the idea that he “quits” is another one of his “myths”. U can definitely see how frustrated he gets when things aren’t going according to plan though, it’s all over his face. He’s like Trinidad in the sense he has plan A and plan B is to try and get plan A to work.

The reason why Tyson lost by dq is because he kept on getting head butted inside the clinch. Holy wasn't cheating but he "knows" where to keep his head ( aka the James toney fight "evander watch your head " said Jay nady) Tyson was complaining to the ref mill s Lane but he still couldn't get no help. The bite was premeditated, tyson came out of the corner with out his mouthpiece and let the streets take over. The rest is history. I recall Tyson after the fight that his eyes cut made him look like a monster when his kids were forced to look at him.

I believe the stereotype or myth exists? So certain people can feel better about themselves 'If you just stand up to Mike Tyson or the so called bully he will disappear' It is a way to discredit him.

Even up against Danny William's it took 20+ unanswered punches to put Tyson with a injury onto the canvas. I have never witnessed him in any of his fights, disappear when met with resistance 'Mike Tyson always fought back furiously, but maybe not cerebrally as you have pointed out' he would visibly become frustrated and bite down on his gloves as if he was attempting to comfort his rage.

I honestly don't really think Mike Tyson's legacy was even tarnished that much by any of his loses to Williams or Mcbride 'I was devastated at the time, but enjoyed both of the fights'

Right. Not to sound corny, but there’s more to boxing than just winning and losing. It’s prizefighting and it’s entertainment. Mike has always said people love the KOs. His Legacy is secure for sure and he deserves it, I mean he’s beloved in a way like no one else. His style is what breeds his legend. I caught the McBride fight by chance in a hotel room in thailand. My dad told me Evander Holyfield would beat Tyson the day after the Spinks fight. He also said Tyson has a good chin and stood up to his beatings in his losses. All his fights are out there, for people who want to analyze him from toe to head.
