Nah he tried to get Wilder before he booked Ortiz again and tried to get Fury April 2019. You can find videos of Wilder saying AJ's team is begging for the fight.

Don't forget Fury and Wilder are proven liars. Wilder said he wouldn't make AJ fight if details of contract were made public. Says it all

That's pretty obvious - Wilder has a belt and Fury is a big name with little threat (he hasn't beaten a top-20 fighter in 4 years).

It was Wilder who said he wanted to keep negotiations private not AJ
