Well, all the top fighters got sick of waiting for GRj to agree to fight them so they already moved on. Just like his fighting style. Wait for the threat to move on and then call them out. Tugstogt was not at that level yet. Why do you think grj took that fight? Grj doesnt need worry. He can selfishly occupy that title for years and the featherweight division will never see a unified champ.

I don't believe that Santa Cruz ever wanted to fight GRJ. He hasn't really fought a live body since Frampton. No, I don't count the Mares fights. Dude is over the hill and half blind. Santa Cruz named his kid after Al Haymon, and has been rewarded with a lengthy career of non-descript opposition.

That having been said, GRJ looks too small to move up. Tug took everything thrown at him pretty easily.

So Russell ready to cash out at 135? That's what it sounds like. There's champs at 130 so why not go after them first?

GR deserve a unification fight as he is WBC champ since 2015. He has marketable name to create a profitable fights...

GRJ has held the belt hostage and had 6 fights in 6 years. He talks more about boxing than he actually fights. Calling people out and actually wanting the fights are completely different. He doesn't deserve anything and he should just retire already.

135 is too big for GRJ! 3 viable opponents are Rene Alvarado, Chris Colbert, and of course, LSC! If he moved to 130, could the WBC make him the mandatory for Miguel Berchelt? That would be a great fight too!

When Gary Russell was with Golden Boy he was on his way to becoming a PPV star.

                Now he's just forgotten. Smh

In his next appearance in 2021? Or the one after, in 2022?
