Comments Thread For: Jaime Arboleda Survives Huge Scare, Edges Velez in Fire Fight

ALLENTOWN, Pennsylvania Jayson Velez overcame some troublesome moments Saturday night to knock down Jaime Arboleda in the 12th round and almost knocked him out. It still wasn't enough to convince the judges that Velez deserved to win their 12-round WBA super featherweight championship elimination match. Velez knocked Arboleda with just over a minute to go in their bout, but Arboleda survived and won their entertaining, back-and-forth fight by split decision.

I hope my man Rigo won't put people to sleep other than Solis.

I hope he is about to become the oldest fighter to ever win the Bantamweight title. If he does, he has some nice paydays ahead. Pulling hard for him - it is sentimental seeing an older fighter get that final glory and win the title.

As soon as I saw one of the Watson twins in Arboleda's corner at the end, I knew they would rob Velez.

Missed most of it live, so I just caught the replay. Great fight. Both guys weren’t lying. They both really wanted a KO.
