You claimed it happened in England. Which is wrong.
You claimed Northern Ireland isn't Ireland. Which is also wrong.
Northern Irish people aren't British.
Why do people from N Ireland identify as British?
And N Ireland is part of the UK...correct?

Ireland is the island with Republic of Ireland/Northern Ireland.
UK is England/Scotland/Wales/Northern Ireland.

You wouldn't call the Irish British? It's a silly bit of semantics. The Northern Irish are Irish in one sense because they're from Ireland but they are technically British citizens.

It's honestly one em tricky ones that I shouldn't have even brought up cos there ain't one good answer and you're only gonna piss someone off. FWIW I respect everyone's right to self identify so personally I'd have to say it's down to the individual. Guess you'll get many Unionists reckoning themselves British and many **********s reckoning Irish..Last edited by Citizen Koba; 02-08-2020, 05:09 PM.

Simple fact is the terminology is so imprecise there's room to make either case. Anyways I ain't standing on either side and it was just a silly bit of humour that misfired.

There is this though, Apparently the courts have declared that the Northern Irish are British... doesn't really seem reasonable to me but...Last edited by Citizen Koba; 02-08-2020, 05:19 PM.
