Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder Shares Game Plan On How To Beat Tyson Fury

LOS ANGELES-Deontay Wilder believes he has to be the busier boxer when he meets Tyson Fury again. Although Wilder threw more more total punches (430 to 327) in their first meeting in 2018, a much disputed draw, he was outlanded 84 to 71 by his British counterpart.

Wilder will be tired in the 2nd half of the fight if he plans to throw even more than in the 1st fight. It would be funny if Fury KOs Wilder in the 2nd round in the 2nd fight on 2/2/20 .

Fury won 1,3,4 clearly. 2 could have went either way and was the only round knockdowns aside that could have been scored for Wilder.

His only chance is winning by stoppage.

Well, we already know that half prepared Fury survived all his big shots.

“I have to throw a lot more in general, for real. The jab sets things up. It sets the right hand up. The left hook, and the uppercut, and everything you want to throw right after it. We’re adding a lot more two-and-three [punch combinations],” said Wilder.

... in the first fight, Wilder threw no less than 244 jabs, but he only landed 50 of those... Now, tell us how many more jabs he intend to throw this time around?...

... Wilder wants to throw (land?) a lot more three punch combos... last time he only threw 5 of them... (in like 12 rounds...)

There are bad things that happen to Wilder in the ring that he doesn’t fully understand. He tries to land a bomb before too many bad things add up. Hearing him claim he has some sort of game plan is laughable. Guaranteed that 50% of the posters here know boxing better than he does.

Fury is not 60 year old Ortiz. He is half that age.

Let’s face it, Fury’s uncastrated wild boar is a little more potent than Ortiz’s heart medicine.

I don't think Fury will pick up where he left off. They were trading in a corner and he got the best of the last exchanges as the bell rang. He was fighting for dear life, wounded and cornered. He won't start out like that.
