Guys suggesting his resume is not as impressive as GGG’s, and now somebody suggesting he got hit a lot.😂😂
Those are the casuals. He fought three ATGs in their prime, something Floyd never did. He was robbed against JCC, and went the distance with prime Oscar and Tito. I would say he got a gift in his first match with McGirt, but otherwise, he had a stellar career and better defense overall.

In his PRIME, Sweet Pea was unquestionably one of the greatest defensive fighters of all time.
He was in his prime when he slugged it out with Roger? And exactly how long was his prime? I remember him doing that silly ass bobbing and weaving against Oscar and Tito. Oscar staggered him and bruised him up.

I like Pernell but to me, he is more so like a Benitez type of fighter.

That was like his 10th fight against Mamba, same thing happened to him against Alfredo Layne, he was learning and developing at that point, and even still he got up and won the rest of both fights pretty clearly.

He was past his prime against Tito and Oscar you can’t be legitimately using them as a way to devalue his defensive ability. He gave Oscar hell as well that was a very close fight.

We are not gonna agree on this dude so all I’ll say is go back and actually watch Sweet Pea between him beating Haugen and getting robbed against JCC and then if you still think he wasn’t that great defensively then fair enough you are entitled to your opinion, but the majority of people who have watched or studied that era of boxing will like likely disagree with it.

Benitez is another ATG, that’s not a bad thing.

McGirt is very underrated as a fighter IMO. Azumah Nelson was a great win too.

You know we live in a day and age where anyone who has skills or defense, gets lumped in with Floyd. Like its just a milion Floyd's running around when truth be told their is only one.

I think we need to categorize guys better, and let the legends sit on that deserved throne.

Floyd isn’t in a league of his own. ATG fighter and the best of his era but he never surpassed guys like Robinson, Leonard, Armstrong etc.

Floyd Mayweather's defense was more economical and efficient 'James Toney's defense comes close to Mayweather's, but he did not have Mayweather's movement capabilities'.

Pernell Whitaker had a great defense, but swaying your body all over the show is not really economical.

Pea one of three great fighters without a size advantage I’d pick to win at least once in a trilogy with Floyd

Your delusional. Every fighter you just named looks like a doodoo fighter next to Floyd. This dude dominated and embarrassed 90% of the people he faced, for 20yrs and 50 straight fights. SRL, and everyone else you named not even close to Floyd. Floyd was literally laughing in opponent's faces and making them look like clumsy morons, running into shots. When we lie and make it seem like their was more than one of these guys, all we do is put a magnifying glass on everyone else.

Their is only one Floyd Mayweather Jr. Its time to give that man his props.
