Thoughts on the Yafai vs Israel Gonzales fight

I was re-watching this fight on my lunch, mostly as a little research for a future pick ems' but also because I remember reading so many comments post fight at the time that scored this fight very differently from myself and had made a mental note to go and re-watch it.

I watched it with no commentary and with the exception of round 12, I scored it similarly as I did the first time. To be warned, it's a pretty uneventful fight but I think a perfect example of peoples different scoring requirements. I appreciate it's fairly clear what the actual scoring requirements are in boxing, but people tend to score on their own preferences.

I'm not sure if fight links are permitted but i'll embed it anyway (i'm assuming it is as Koba has linked many and he's a stand up bod)

I scored it 115-113 to Yafai. I felt his evasive footwork, (fairly pedestrian, but effective) combined with an extremely tight guard, nullified huge portions of Gonzalez's work. While Gonzales was by far the busier fighter, it was largely ineffective and I felt like Yafai was almost always in control. The exceptions for me were rounds 11 and 12, where for some odd reason, Yafai started going backwards periodically.

If you don't have time/desire to watch the whole thing, round 7 seems a perfect example of a "it's what you liked" type round. I had this as a Yafai round, but many exclaiming robbery scored it for Gonzales.
