Comments Thread For: David Lemieux Injured, Withdraws From February 21 Rimouski Bill

Severe discomfort in his back has stalled David Lemieux's latest attempt to have his career move forward.

The former middleweight titlist was forced to withdraw from a scheduled February 21 headliner at Colise Financire Sun Life in Rimouski, Quebec, Canada after suffering a back injury during training camp. News of the development was announced by Lemieux's manage, Camille Estephan's Eye of the Tiger Management (EOTTM) who through a press release have indicated the show will still go on.

It just won't happen for Lemieux, whose post-title reign career has been plagued by injuries and struggles to make weight. The latest injury-which resulted in a full stop of his training camp-puts Lemieux (41-4, 34KOs) on the shelf for at least 2-3 weeks and officially out of his planned 10-round super middleweight clash versus Poland's Robert Talarek (24-13-3, 16KOs).

Lemieux probably needs to hang em up sooner than later. He's had a hard time making weight over the past 4-5 years and the injuries are piling up.

David should retire for his own good.

Might be a good candidate for the Bare Knuckle league. Pity his opponents.

Lemieux's career was mismanaged. He's irrelevant at 168. Too small for all the fighters that could use his name. If he's smart, he won't accept that payday as it could be dangerous for him. Munguia is a good fight for him but again that's 160 which he can't make. Is this dude an alcoholic? He always look pudgy.

I feel the only reason Lemieux is chugging along is because Golden Boy promised him a Canelo payday. Once he gets that he'll retire.

Lemieux would be a good candidate for a Canelo payday considering the only ones that get it are non deserving over the hill fighters. Canelo could be great if he just dared to be he should stop with all the has been and beat the other top guys in 160 or 168

I was really hoping to see Lemuiex in the ring next month.

                He's a good action fighter.

He was not mismanaged at all
Actually he got much more than he deserved for a limited fighter
To big for 160 and not big enough for 168
Also , he’s not very dedicated in training

                  I’m thinking the same thing
Hes just waiting to get that retirement money
