I think this is what he did (gain a lot of weight) before he pulled out of the Klitschko rematch. Maybe this fight is not happening. Fury may be setting the stage again to pull out, with all this talk of retirement etc. The hunger is not there no more. Too much emphasis on the imaginary lineal title has doused his hunger

      "Bulks up."

Well, this is what his father wanted: stop focusing on weight and focus on the technique and gameplan. We'll see if it was a mistake. Fights a few weeks out, he could easily drop another 5lbs before fight night if tried.

I wouldn't put it past the Gypsy to just be saying he is 270 just to keep ***ing with Deontays head.

I just think this is a mistake...his movement and elusiveness is what gave Wilder issues....he’s gonna be slower especially in the later rounds and I think he’s gonna take a big shot and that will be that

Interesting. On one hand, muscle weighs more than non-muscle, so it could indicate he is gaining in muscle. Then again, it could indicate a lack of training and discipline getting in shape.

Fury is a big guy. His weight, length, and reach bothered Wilder before. 270 lbs is not necessarily overweight for a guy that's 6'9". Many football players carry that weight easily. Charles Barkley weighed close to that and ran the BB courts all day, with no problems, at 6'5" or 6'6".

If however, the weight indictes lack of discipline and training, Fury will have hurt himself badly.

Personally I was hoping Wilder would come into this fight at 232 or so, because Fury's size and lightness on his feet make for a long and difficult fight. I think Wilder is a much stronger fighter at a bit higher weight. Of course, his right hand works, additional weight or not.

Interesting developments for a very interesting rematch.

I agree. It’s like fighters claiming they came in heavy in case the other fighter leaned on them or so they could lean on the other fighter is just an old boxing joke. These super heavyweights are big so I can accept sum weight fluctuation. But anyone coming in dramatically heavier for the biggest fight of their life can’t be on purpose. I know the trainers have to lie and say it’s on purpose to sell the fight. Do they even do the tale of the tape anymore with all the body measurements? I never trusted it anyway. Was different every time.,Take a body fat test if u say ur in the best shape.

Anyway you slice it, Fury gets KO’d and I believe it comes early. Wilder gonna sleep him. Don’t believe the hype.

I saw in the 24/7 thing that he's eating 6 meals a day. Now I'm assuming this is based on the work he should be doing, but if he's cutting corners and skipping on his runs, then he's obviously going to get fatter. I must say though, his jaw line looked very chiseled in the interview he did with gareth davies. If you're overweight, the face is usually the first thing to swell. he was 250'ish in their first fight so he's 25 pounds heavier than he was? That's only 8-10% of an increase, which really isn't a whole lot. My concern would be his body not being accustomed to fighting at this weight for 12 rounds
