I hope they dont make it so one of these guys with half Loma's talent beats him just because they're young Americans. Loma could go another 10 years building his name and bring in way more money than any of them, and he's much more fun to watch. I think talent wise, Tank, Haney, and even Teofimo and Stevenson don't have what it takes to beat Lomachenko, but I might bet on all four of them to beat Loma anyway because of the politics of the sport. I think Loma cares about money as much as winning just like most of them do.
Loma is surrounded by these young guns. That's why fights are taking long to make, instead of Loma's usual mandatories or weak "champions." I give all 4 a chance to beat Salido, with Davis pulverizing him. Lopez would KO Salido too. The other two might have struggled with him.
Another reason for this fight taking long to make is: Money. Top Rank isn't doing that well. Loma isn't in a position to make any offers to these guys. Lopez-Loma is fifty-fifty to me in terms of purse. Both expect a lot of money.Comment

Lomachenko would be the favorite over anyone @ 135! His skill is just on another level! However, Lopez has the most power, and his skill level is higher than that of Salido and Pedraza. In fact, Pedraza didn't want no parts of Teo! Haney's skill level is higher than Linares' too, so he does have a good chance. However I think we won't see the best of Devin and Teofimo until they go to 140! The fighter most equipped to beat Lomachenko, under 140, is Tank Davis!Comment

It's a joke but fights like that don't happen at all very often so the fact it's getting made at all, people don't complain too much because they're too busy complaining about the other 10 fights like that that should be made right now but don't get made at all.
In other words it's not that people aren't annoyed by it, it's just that there are higher-priority things to complain about in boxing than Lomachenko vs Teofimo happening in May instead of March.
Like how about the fact Joseph Parker or Luis Ortiz (or at least Povetkin) were supposed to be Usyk's debut heavyweight opponent last spring, but now over a year later it seems like they're pushing for Usyk to fight Parker this summer. That's over a year delay just for the *****ing appetizer to the main course. Hopefully that gives an example what I meant.
In the end though, it's all just business, just a game, and neither the boxers or the promoters care about the sport or the fans, just the money. They've shown that for a long time in my opinion. Sometimes they talk about changing it, but they never do. GGG didn't complain about Canelo making him wait to fight even 1% as much as some of his fans did, and that's because he got paid in the end. That's what it is all about. Loma sometimes say he's an athlete not businessman, but other times he talks about "I would like this fight because it's the highest money" or something like that. At least I think I heard him say that a few times, but I do confuse him and Usyk sometimes.
Anyway, the point is, they will make the fights when they want, and almost always the winner is who the sport wants too. It doesn't matter what we think, so best not waste time commenting about it. Get entertainment from watching the few nights they do provide good matchups if you like, but otherwise, tune out, it's a waste of your time. If you can catch on to how the sport works in terms of which nationalities or age groups usually get close decisions, or any other patterns you notice, then maybe you can make some money off it betting, if it's legal where you live and if you choose to risk losing your money of your own perogative and volition, not due to my advice because I have no advice on that either way, what someone thinks could be patterns could actually be misinterpreted, usually the house wins, etc etc, so... I have no advice about betting or not betting, what I am trying to say is the "sport" is not designed for your benefit, so it's best to either find better ways to spend your time, or at least not spend time on any of the parts of the sport that don't bring you something that you value. I was a big Loma fan, GGG fan, Pacquiao fan, as opposed to disliking Floyd, but in the end i figured out, they're all cut from the same cloth and they all seem to go along with the same business-first system whether they admit it or not.Comment

I feel the same about him and Lopez. Neither of them are ready for Lomachenko. Boxing is so backwards now. It should not even be Lopez vs Haney fighting eachother, let alone them vs Lomachenko. In reality both of them should be still be fighting other top 10 fighters like Fortuna, Easter, or Barthelemey. Then finally fight eachother, winner gets Lomachenko. They’re rushing to take that L by Lomachenko.Comment

Haneys career is a sham at this point. All an illusion. He’s not a champ but he’s parading around like one. He really needs to step up his competition.Comment

On top of that, I think Loma was crazy for swerving a fight with Pacquiao @ 140, but maybe Loma knows that could be a problem? Tank will be the same problem in 2020!Comment
