Before the fight played out how it did Farmer clearly told his corner in between rounds 1 and 2 that he hurt his right hand I doubt he'd do that for the **** of it.

He could have hurt it without breaking it, telling his corner so they could devise a better strategy perhaps? Could have just been instinct even (even a small injury in sparring you tell your corner and sparring will typically stop to not injure it further/check on the injury.
