I've been leaning in the same direction , diaz outworking farmer . It's tough to call tho . Depends what is gonna do the trick that night , volume or skills . I could also see diaz getting blatantly robbed in a close fight. These picks this week are real tough to call every one of them

I’m not sure Farmer’s style is anywhere near as effective against higher calibre opposition. This isn’t no Jono Carroll, Tennysson or Frenois he’s in there with. I rewatched his fight with Ogawa and he was getting tagged.

Im picking Diaz to win but didnt he struggle with a bum in his last fight? i didnt catch it.

He looked very under prepared. I think he trained for an easy night.

That last performance is my biggest reservation tbf.

I have to do a last minute check to see how they deal with a few specific things. Unless I come across something I’ve been overlooking I see a Farmer UD. Its hard to pick Diaz since I doubt he has fight ending power against someone who he won’t be landing cleanly on. Will update before THURSDAY which is when the fight is.

I went back and forth on this last night. Farmer has never really impressed me either

I think Diaz definitely has limitations against that style, but like you said, he's not fighting GRJ. Realistically, it's a step down in class from that so that could be good for him..enough so that his power can show enough to slow Farmer up.

It's just a quirk of Diaz's that I've noticed that I think holds him back against dudes trying to move on him.. takes too long to reset - there's a habit that needs to be broken in always rubbing his gloves together after taking a flurry and being unable to respond. Takes flurry... rubs gloves, puts his hands up, then steps.

It's almost like the quirk Curtis Stevens has where he always has to do that little pivot with the back foot before re-attempting to come forward...it takes too long and the opponent can see it

Even with all that, Farmer has never really impressed against subpar competition...I have a tough time gauging him...I can only use what I know about Diaz. I really hope he can win this

Kind of. He's not as defensively sound as some make out. I remember Diaz gassed pretty bad against Russell though and his fight against Rojas was pretty draw-ish.

The guy I want to see more of is the Chinese fighter beat Jesus Rojas and handed Manny Robles III his first loss in his last fight. Can Xu is the fighter I'm thinking of.

I was rewatching that Russell fight and I don’t think Farmer has the power to keep Diaz off. Nor does he possess the same speed or skill set of GRJ.

I've had the same feeling all week, I felt like diaz would get robbed then I watched him fight gary Russell again , altho I cant compare farmer to russell directly at this point they are both slick southpaws with fast hands . If farmer moves enuff and avoids getting outworked I think this fight is his , unless he gets caught or outworked I see him winning . Farmer SD diaz . Final pick . As for roman iam not so sure he can not brawl and box to a win which I think is his best choice . Iam torn and dont know enuff about Roman's opponent, not even how to spell his name so I will go with my gut and pick roman via SD aswell .these are good matchups iam excited. Iam still very torn on this pick . Akhmadliev looks pretty tough this is going to be a good fight . Maybe a draw type slugfest .
