Iam waiting ....
I do agree with you that Tyson vs young George might end up like the Lyle fight. But older George was smarter than that. Young George was sometimes wreckless like he was vs Lyle. That said Lyle tried to win a slugfest with George and lost. But it was actually one of George's worst fights cuz he got caught up in the slugfest and gave up all notion of defense. Old George wouldn't do that.Last edited by MiDKnighT; 01-28-2020, 12:33 AM.

George Foreman was durable and too much of a dog to lose to Tyson.
I believe Tyson would be intimidated by somebody like Foreman and it would be in his head.
Foreman beats his ass from pillar to post

Foreman didn’t and wouldn’t have the punch count to beat Tyson ,you really needed to pound him consistently to win in punches in bunches . Tyson would slip slow single shots rather easily and hurt Foreman’s body ,we could see how this fight may play out when Foreman fought Qawi so I don’t see Foreman as a betting favorite .

Every fighter that ever beat Foreman did so by running away (or covering up) from his power and boxing him. And that is not Tyson's style at all. He cannot fight going backwards. And he's not going to back George up.

You brought up Qawi who Holyfield said was his toughest opponent ever. Foreman made Qawi quit. So I don't know how that helps your argument. And of course Foreman wouldn't be the betting favorite. Wasn't Holyfield like an 8-1 underdog when he fought Tyson? I would put my money on Foreman though. Would be easy money with good betting odds.

The most amazing thing about George's 2nd run is that he was never knocked down once facing many former champions. George's 2nd coming might have had the best chin in heavyweight history.

Tough one because young Mike was so fast and explosive. Foreman was very durable but I cant see that version of Foreman lasting against young Tyson. Young Foreman is a different story though...

Foreman also struggled badly with Stewart who Tyson knocked out in a round or two so I don’t see how odds mean anything in this match .
Foreman struggled with Savarese also who Tyson dispatched in one round .
Tyson going on the premise of the thread was not near to losing under Kevin Rooney and owns everything important advantage in winning fights from technique to style ,you would have had a clubber vs a razor sharp counter puncher who starts early and has had no stamina issues going the distance . Foreman’s slow pace would not make Tyson have to worry about slowing down late in the fight if Foreman is still on the move .Last edited by REDEEMER; 01-28-2020, 02:21 AM.

2. Did you really just compare Razor Ruddock's punching power to George Foreman's? Here, let me introduce you to George Foreman. You don't seem to know him very well.
Many if not most boxing experts and former fighters rank Foreman as the 2nd hardest puncher in the history of boxing after only Earnie Shavers.
Holyfield said that Foreman hit him harder than anyone. And he's fought a lot of great fighters and power punchers.
Another old school boxer (maybe Ali?) compared Frazier and Foreman's power. They said getting hit by Frazier was like getting hit by a Cadillac at 60mph. Getting hit by Foreman was like getting hit by a semi truck at 45mph.
And Foreman negates a lot of his opponent's speed with grappling maneuvers. Especially someone with Tyson's style.
Once again, styles make fights.
I don't care who struggles with who and who knocks who else out fast. It doesn't matter. It's one style vs another style. And Foreman's style is the worst possible matchup for Tyson. Tyson would last longer against prime Ali or prime Joe Louis than he would against young or old Foreman. Not because Foreman is better than Ali or Louis, because his style is such a perfect counter for Tyson's. Watch Foreman vs Frazier 1 to see what I mean.
