Who would be a better promoter for Canelo Alvarez... Golden Boy Promotions or Motor City Cobra?

GBP has been in the business for years and Oscar De La Hoya is very experienced with the world of boxing. That being said, MCC does have a YouTube channel and watches boxing on TV.

Bottom line is Canelo no longer needs a long term promoter. He can promote his own fights or freelance the job out to whoever he wants or sees fit to. Long term promoter agreements aren't +EV for the biggest stars in this game. If Canelo suddenly at some point becomes a guy who can't sell tickets he can always go back to a long term promoter contract so there isn't much of an L to be had here for Canelo controlling his own destiny more.

I was about to volunteer myself but hey let Cobra try. I would set up fights for big exposure for him. Plus he needs to fight atleast 3 times a year. May 5th, Spetember 16th, and early December. Lets see Benavidez in Vegas, Zurdo in Guadalajara, GGG 3 in Vegas, Beterbiev in Brooklyon or MSG, Murata on Tokyo, Winner of Chalo-Andrade in Dallas, Hows that for a 2year 6 fight deal. ? Would be great in theory, but good luck with that.

Careful matchmaking combined with good fighting ability got Canelo where he is today which is a very good place so I would stay with Oscar. He was smart enough to avoid a third fight with GGG while gwtting him a setup with Kovalev that made him look like a monster to some.
