  • Comments Thread For: Hurd Thought Williams Would 'Walk Through' Rosario

NEW YORK Jarrett Hurd was as surprised as anyone to watch Julian Williams lose to Jeison Rosario. The former IBF/IBO/WBA 154-pound champion expected Williams to "walk through" an unknown underdog Williams was listed as a 30-1 favorite to beat. Hurd admits that he didn't know much about the Dominican Republic's Rosario, other than that he had been stopped by Nathaniel Gallimore, an opponent Williams beat by majority decision.

There's bad boxers who have strong chins and good boxers that have weak chins. The latter doesn't mean you are an awful boxer - JRock certainly is a good boxer but his chin...

Do people say he has a weak chin because of the Charlo JAB, or does 2 tko losses = a weak chin. How does one come to the conclusion? Is there a criteria. Serious question!

Williams own trainer, Stephen Breadman Edwards, says that a weak chin is when you get Ko'd easily and/or often. (Khan) Getting knocked down but getting back up again and completing the fight is not good but doesn't mean you have a weak chin. (Hassan N'Dam)

Going down and staying down means weak chin.

Going down and getting up and surviving (ie the brain fog clears rapidly) is something else. Supposedly. :-)

I thought the criteria was when the fighter gets shaken, wobbled etc. by lighter punches that would not of previously hurt them. Or, a fighter that is dropped by punches that probably would not bother other fighters at the same weight?????

            Hurd..

You need to actually stop trying to walk through people before you get severely hurt

I’d like to see Tony Harrison vs. Julian Williams

                Jrock has no chin

Jrock is a good boxer but if he faces someone with power and skill offensively and defensive he will definitely lose again. Hurd has no defense, Lubin hasn’t been tested since Charlo destroyed him back in 2017.
