Comments Thread For: Hurd: No Matter What Anybody Says, I Have Best Resume At 154

By Keith Idec - NEW YORK Jarrett Hurd learned quite quickly eight months ago how just one close loss could cause some fickle fans to suddenly discount virtually everything else you had accomplished. Hurd fell from one of the top two spots among 154-pound boxers, along with Jermell Charlo, to an overrated afterthought once underdog Julian Williams...

Ehhhh I think I'd say Lara has the best resume at 154 but Hurd and Charlo aren't too far off.

The thing about 154 is it's pretty much Lara, Hurd, Charlo, JRock, & Harrison all around the same level without much seperation, no one really stands out, which is why theres really no clear picture or king of 154. I feel like all these guys could beat each other on any given day.

Lara's skillful but is old, lost his legs & is forced to fight a style he's not used to. Charlos alright. He's aggressive (overly & ineffectively at times) but his power doesn't match his aggression & hes pretty hittable. -never seen him in with a hard puncher but have seen him buzzed by Harrison. Harrison is skilled but can't take punches too well & has no power. Hurd is like Margarito 2.0 without the gas tank & will probably get K.Oed when he moves up because he has no defense & pretty much gets by on size, brute strength & volume. JRock is up and down, mostly down - bad punch resistance.

Everyone else is pretty much garbage, washed, or unknown.

Lara easily the best resume just from fighting everyone early in his career alone.

... Jarrett Hurd... just having in mind his actual size (height and reach) he should have already fought at 160, 168, or 175...

Lara has the best 154 resume and he is the hardest one to beat. All 3 of his losses are controversial. I think Canelo edged him, but it was close and some fans think Lara won. Lara definitely beat Paul Williams very clearly. It wasn’t even close, that was an actual robbery.
