Comments Thread For: Ramirez-Alvarez, Salamov-Vlasov Title Eliminators Ordered By WBO

A final four has been established to fill the light heavyweight void left behind by Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. Less than 12 hours after BoxingScene.com reported the confusion surrounding the World Boxing Organization (WBO) light heavyweight title, the Puerto Rico-based sanctioning body has ordered a pair of elimination contests. Representatives for the top four contenders-Gilberto Ramirez, Umar Salamov, Maksim Vlasov and Eleider Alvarez-were contacted by the WBO and required to respond within 24 hours whether the boxers are ready to participate in the assigned elimination contests.

I really like this. At least this way the eventual champion has earned it.

Just because he beat krusher doesn’t mean he will beat Ramirez, but one thing I’d for sure... whoever wins out of Ramirez and Alvarez will be the champ in my opinion

"A Russian Knockout" so I guess that means he has model looks?

ha fair point and since corrected... and while beauty is in the eye of the beholder, he most certainly does not fit the traditional male model mold.

It could be Ramirez. I see Ramirez beating Alvarez by clean UD

What's the issue between Zurdo and Top Rank?

Well this to me proves Ramirez is on the outs with TR. Typically the WBO would just setup the TR guy with a random guy you never heard of or barely heard of for a vacant belt not do a whole tournament where Ramirez gets put in with his toughest opponent in years probably.
