Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia Not Pressured To Outperform Davis, Farmer Versus Fonseca

Ryan Garcia understands the comparisons given the common opponent, but isn't looking to one-up Gervonta Davis and Tevin Farmer in his next fight. That part should just come naturally if all goes according to plan. The 21-year old heartthrob couldn't pick a more occasion to return to the ring, as he faces former two-time title challenger Francisco Fonseca on February 14-Valentine's Day-at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The DAZN-streamed headliner comes with a regional title at stake, but will of course be used as a measuring stick to see how he stacks up against Davis and Farmer, both of whom represent the lone two losses on the ledger of Nicaragua's Fonseca (25-2-2, 19KOs).

Ryan needs to take his time. The reynosos will make him better. He is not as advanced as the other young guys. I eventually see Ryan at 147 in a couple of years. No need to rush this kid right now.

What he needs to do is torpedo that over weight lover, Tank. I'm getting tired of the blind hate. Like Tank looks great at 135. He looks slow, he's reaching, his power is down, now's the time.

I agree, give the Reynosos time to mold this kid as a fighter.

The results will be worth it I think.

              No need to rush.

Kingry would absolutely destroy tevin farmer.

Kingry should move back down to 130 just for a farmer fight and become a world champ.

The next time he sees 130lbs, he might be 130 years old. He's 5' 10" or some such thing, and going the other way.

Why people think Campbell is so tough I don't know. Ryan can beat Linares, but he can't beat Campbell? Linares beat Campbell, as I recall. What great wins turned Campbell into this monster? When he gets nominated to the hall of fame, will a simple bust do?
