David Price insists that his soon to be announced March/April fight against hard-hitting and former world champion Lucas Browne, should be for the soon to be vacant WBO world heavyweight Championship.
David Price states that, Lucas Browne as a former World champion and an excellent boxing record has earned the right to fight for a belt again, and that he is the perfect opponent giving his power, rivalry with Browne and resume.
David Price's statement:
People are pushing Olexandr Usyk for the vacant WBO belt, and a great cruiserweight he is, what has he done at heavyweight? He's had one fight, and let's be honest he was poor, got hurt and narrowly won against a journeyman who came in at very short notice.
And Joseph Parker, coming off two one-sided losses. I'm the man with the power and the resume. Look at the facts, my resume is A+. Povetkin, Thompson twice, Hammer, Teper, Kuzmin, Chisora, Allen, Little, Fury in the amateurs, Joshua in sparring.
I have wins over Joshua and Fury, people just seem to want to brush that to the side. People saying I can't box or defend? Go and watch my masterclass vs Dave Allen.
What more do I have to do for a world title shot. Boxing is about timing, and it's my time. Me vs Browne would be the Ali vs Foreman of this era and I will leave the ring with the WBO world championship belt.
