Exactly... I thought the rematch was a done deal but Hurd went completely quiet when Williams wanted VADA testing.

Y’all are both horribly wrong, had nothing to do with the testing!

Ever since J rock lost to Charlo he’s put in his contract that whoever fights him has to agree to doing VADA 3 months going into the fight , so Hurd did VADA and J rock/Breadmad gave him credit for doing it!

The problem of why the rematch didn’t happen was because Hurd was in a very vulnerable state, where his former trainer basically bad mouthed him to the press and then left Hurd!

Do you think it would’ve been smart for Hurd to just jump back in the rematch with a new trainer without any chemistry?

He did the smart thing by taking a rain check, regrouping and getting chemistry with a new trainer first!

J rock bad mouthing Hurd wasn’t a good look since he says he’s humble!

Humble people don’t bad mouth those who give them an opportunity of a lifetime and that person didn’t make any bad comments about you!

Hope Rock bounces back though cuz he deserves another shot at redemption!

        It wasn't a mandatory?

J-Rock earned the Hurd fight. Hurd never gave him sh**t.

But Williams, a Philadelphia native, shook off the loss quickly and came back to win his next four fights to earn a mandatory shot against Hurd, and he made it count in a blazing, action-packed fight that featured tremendous action in almost every round after the slower first

Julian "J Rock" Williams crashed Jarrett Hurd's homecoming Saturday night in Fairfax, Virginia, winning a unanimous decision to take Hurd's unified junior middleweight world title belts.

Hurd could’ve took a unification with Charlo and skipped his mandatory so wrong again, he GAVE him an opportunity of a lifetime yet Rock was bad mouthing Hurd who has shown nothing but respect to Julian!

I heard Julian made excuses for this loss like he did against Charlo, first he said Charlo wasn’t on VADA in the post press and then against Rosario he said he was 170+ pounds!

Night and day from when Hurd lost he said Rock was the better man and congratulations!

Now he did congratulate Rosario but no need for the underhanded talking cuz at the end of the day these guys know you better than most of people you around cuz like you they fight to make a living!

Nah. He couldn't have fought Charlo because Harrison had the belt and had to give Jermell the rematch.
                IBF don't play that game.
Hurd couldn't take anything because marination was in play.
JRock earned it. He wasn't given anything.

This is why I will never ever bet on combat sports. Any other type of athlete can have an off night and it is no big deal. A fighters mental and physical toughness can vary from one fight to the next, even if they are elite. All it takes is one tiny mistake to upset the apple cart.

154 is wide open. No idea who will come out on top by end of year.

Wouldn’t be surprised in the least if Team Williams reconsiders that immediate rematch clause.
