Yea but I read somewhere that the winner of tonight's fight Alvarez Seales is fighting Joe Smith for the vacant title

He just isn't very good. Maybe a top 6 contender but not a champion at 168 or 175 if he fights the best. He had a hard time with Hart who was crushed by Smith and Smith lost almost every round to Bivol. He might have a chance to beat Plant but he has no chance against Bivol or Beterbiev and probably loses to Benavidez too. Maybe some other promoter can get him bigger fights but I think he loses to the best of 168 or 175.
