Why Can’t Deontay Wilder Speak English?

I just got done watching the first press conference for Wilder v. Fury 2 and listening to Wilder speak makes me cringe so hard. The poor man struggles to put a sentence together without stuttering and stumbling, when he tries to trash talk his inability to string words together intensifies.

He has to be the dumbest boxer to ever fight.

He's obviously not educated but I feel like his real problem is that his natural emotions get the better of him and he starts losing the ability to properly communicate. That is a double edge sword because those same emotions make him probably the most ruthless and dangerous puncher of all time. The fact that he's from the south is totally not the reason he speaks like that.

Yeah he appears to be overwhelmed when putting his feelings into words but I take that as it being a part of his whole schtick or persona when promoting and doing media. Otherwise he's perfectly legible
