Comments Thread For: Whyte Believes Anthony Joshua Will Never Be The Same Fighter

2019 was a mixed bag for WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. In June, he lost his four world titles in a major upset, when Andy Ruiz dropped him four times for a seventh round stoppage at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

If 'never the same' is adding things and learning, then more power to him.

Josh has to evolve as he's fighting better fighters now. He could crash and **** opponents out with Charles martin and brazeale type guys.

Josh hasn't fought at top level long and only recently have been people taking him a few rounds so nobody really knows what kind of style fighter Josh was.

The fight against Pulev would give us a rough idea of what to expect going forward.
But I think he will mix it up, depending on the opponent. He is more likely to brawl with tall opponents; they suit him better.

Mayweather style is the best for safety and Pacman is at risk in fighting bigger guys.

Whyte is right. Today, AJ is better than he was before the 1st Ruiz fight. Going forward, I think his style will depend on the opponent. If faster and skilled combo fighter like Ruiz, AJ will fight on the back foot. In the case of a slower, less skilled opponent, AJ will be an aggressive, front-foot fighter. He'll fight Pulev on the front foot again.

Or as the great Floyd Jr. said: "A true champion can adapt to anything".

People said the same about Lewis, he was tentative af when he came back. It's really very rare for a boxer to come back from a crushing defeat like that and rematch immediately. While this path might avenge the loss, it also means there is no time for a tune up, to build confidence. It's straight back in to the top 10

Is Whyte the same fighter after getting knocked out by AJ ? I would like to think that style was adopted to deal with that particular opponent and if they fought again that is the only style that will get him the W. Furthermore fight Ruiz and show us how you would beat him
