If you want to fight off the back foot and counter you can avoid it.
In this particular fight Ennis HAD to fight aggressively in the pocket if he was going to get the stoppage. Why? Because that opponent has a teflon chin and only by hitting him 30/40 times a round was he ever going to slow down - damn! he was the definition of durable. You hit him with 10 power punches a rd he wasn't going anywhere (see his previous fight) and so Ennis would have been taken to a decision .... and then all the smart a55es on this forum would be saying he's not all that and he has no power.
SMDH - you can't win with boxing fans - either way you're screwed

Like I said, Boots is a cool young prospect but that's all he is at this point. From what I've seen of him he's not quite ready for the elite level yet. Best thing for him would be to call out another prospect like Ortiz not the top welterweights..
They will never fight each other at this stage. That's not how boxing works.
Danny Garcia is a contender. Ugas is a contender. I'd be confident that Ennis and Ortiz both beat those two. Maybe not easily but they'd do it
Ennis is going to find it increasingly difficult to get fights with the way his promotion is(n't) set up - he needs to put major pressure on his management team to hook up in a co-promotional deal with Tom Brown ofPBC or similar. Ortiz is in the same boat but I think GBP 've got more palanca.
