How the fudge did anyone have Porter winning this fight? Guy is just awful at controlling distance and utilizing angles. Looked like 90% of his punches missed or hit forearm. Porter did have some success with those right hooks, gotta give him that. But other than that Spence was whooping his ass. Spence worked his body over, landed the cleaner shots all night, and even scored a knockdown. Was a clear victory for Spence

Remember, some people on NSB reward ineffective aggression when it's done against a fighter they hate (Spence, Mayweather). It's just the way it is.

I didn't think Porter won it, but I do think Porter did an admirable job. I think it at least partially comes down to do this: if people believe Porter forced Spence into fighting his fight, or if Spence chose to fight Porter's fight. If you believe the former, then Porter set the pace and tone, which makes him appear more dominant. If you believe the latter, then Porter's skills - not to mention his heart and his jaw - are all the more impressive.

Porter gave a good account of himself, he usually does in big fights. I'm glad his identity crisis as a fighter dissapeared before this one. If I knew that version was going to show up and not the Porter from the Ugas and Garcia fights I would have been more excited about it beforehand.

But yeah, no Spence won that. There shouldn't have been any controversy.

I scored the fight for Spence but it wasn't a wide win at all, in fact I think the knockdown he scored late might have bailed him out somewhat because I thought Porter had momentum going into the late rounds. Regardless of the score there's no denying that Porter's strategy took Spence out of his comfort zone and made him work his ass off for the win. It was the kind of fight where both guys deserve credit.
