What are your honest thoughts on Gervonta “Tank” Davis?

Just rewatched the Davis-Gamboa mismatch a little while ago, and found Davis’ performance to be even worse than i thought it was watching it live.

Now, I’ve never thought highly of Davis anyway, but dang! He fought an over the hill fighter who was fighting on one leg and still couldn’t put him away till the 12th?

My thoughts? He’s all hype, and is a brutal KO waiting to happen, should his handlers ever make him step up in competition.

He’s a talented guy but he’s all talk. He should fight someone instead of talking towards them. I’ll be able to judge him better when he actually steps up. Right now he’s just a fat clown who should shut the f**k up.

Talented kid. Having the ear & attention of a guy like Floyd is a huge advantage with massive benefit. But I question his motivation & focus. A guy as young as Tank is shouldn't be having as many problems making weight when hes already pretty f#cking thicc for a smaller weight guy already. Idk why some cats get so lazy between fights for the money on the line. More mfers should be doing it the Bhop way. So I think he's capable of bigger things then he's achieved if he can get his sh^t together between fights. And maybe he can do bigger things even if he doesn't but I suspect his longevity in the sport will be much shorter if he doesn't get the handle of his weaknesses.

You can’t deny the kid’s got talent
But the fact he got Floyd’s attention is a catch 22
For business it’s great ( all the behind scene chit )
Floyd also got his eye caught with Ishe Smith ffs
So talent wise he might just be average if he doesn’t take care of himself and start elevating his game

Interesting to watch. Kind of slow and sloppy at times. Lacks dedication. A bit over hyped.

not a fan of this poster

but yea... 100% what he said

I paragraphed the points... and agree with ALL

the jury is out, no verdict at this point... some good signs, and some troubling signs... he is definitely hanging with the wrong people, and you have to question his dedication

Mayweather wrote the book on relentless dedication

funnily, it appears that Tank did not bother to read that book

The lightweight Broner would've beat the brakes off him
