  • Comments Thread For: Jaime Munguia: I Was Struggling Way Too Much To Make 154

It's still too soon for Jaime Munguia to truly miss his time spent as a junior middleweight titlist. One thing he won't miss from it, though, is having to shed those six extra points. "I was struggling way too much to make 154 pounds," Munguia (34-0, 27KOs) admitted to BoxingScene.com of one of the main factors behind the Tijuana, Mexico product abandoning his title reign. "It was the right time to move up in weight."

Really? someone who is six feet tall, and walking into the ring at 176lbs was having trouble cutting down to 154?

boy, am I ever shocked. Next Chavez Jr. will say he has trouble making 160!

"It was the right time to move up." **** off, you shouldn't have been fighting that damned low to begin with!

This weight bully is about to get a serious reality check. (Not against the drunken Irish, no, but soon after.)

He certainly will, especially if he doesn't tighten up his defense. Can't block punches with your face forever.

I don't think we'll see Canelo at 160 again, and if this hype job Mexican fights the likes of a Chris Eubank Jr his career will essentially be over. GGG would quite literally kill Munguia even though the Kazakh is at the tail end of his career.

Not to mention, struggling with smaller men and struggling with right hands. A lot of struggling going on here.

He's going to take about 5 easy fights at 160 because he steps to the elite.

Not a lot of love for Mr. Munguia on this thread....

I still like him. Not everyone is going to be an all time great. Here at 160, we will find out what his ceiling is real quick. But he throws everything he has into every fight, and he is entertaining. There are some fun match ups for him at MW.
