It's like Cedric Kushner used to say . . . the network wants you to fight godzilla, the manager wants you to fight humpty dumpty and the promoter wants you to fight someone in the middle.

Most Showtime dates are controlled by Haymon, who is a manager, and has a lot of leverage. So unless it's PPV or one of the quarterly big non-PPV fights, you're more likely to get humpty dumpty than godzilla.

Showtime boxing been a joke for a while now. I dont even watch their shows any more, most of their flagship fighters are trashy both inside and outside of the ring. Showtime boxing is approaching a cultlike status with their fans living in la la land where they think their fighters are amazing cause they are given opponents designed to make them look great. Weve seen what happened to their 'killers' when eventually they fight someone with a pulse, stevenson got demolished, jermall charlo lost to a C level inactive euro, tyson fury spent 3 years sniffing coke and eating kebabs and still beat wilder. But they usually rig the judging so the showtime fans are happy, they can continue pretending their favourite fighters have never lost.We all know tank would get pasted by the top guys in his division too.
