Even Bob Arum said at the time that the fight wasn't going to happen yet and basically called Porter a bum. Regardless, Porter himself says he's got no problem fighting Crawford, but Crawford didn't call him out.

Haymon didn't shoot for it because at the time, Spence was healthy and it was unknown if he would beat Porter. You're talking a unification fight with the IBF/WBC, which are recognized by Fox, and a possible future unification with the WBA, also recognized by Fox. From a MONEY perspective, you're talking (at the time) Porter, Spence and Manny if you want to draw enough.

Arum didn't shoot for it because at the time, Crawford hadn't gotten wobbled by Kavaliauskas yet. Once he GOT wobbled, Arum knew his cash cow wasn't working out. The numbers are dropping. Crawford needs a BIG name - and Porter is it because SPENCE WAS AND STILL IS INJURED.
