Better to stay active than "wait out" a fight you're not sure will happen next. He's had the toughest stretch of any current HW, so I don't see the big deal in facing someone like Pulev. Even if he does "wait out" the Fury/Wilder winner, that potential match up wouldn't happen till later in the year at the earliest. No point in sitting out that long.

ruiz 3 is pointless, ruiz doesn't need another big fight until he proves hes serious, if I'm aj and his team id take a decent/soft touch and pulev is perfect. that last fight wasn't enough to build his confidence back to where it was

My main point was that I don't mind him fighting a Pulev to stay active, instead of waiting out Fury/Wilder like the one poster said.

Agreed that Ruiz should get a solid win or three under his belt if he wants another run at the title. Gotta prove he can hang at that level.

As for Pulev, I don't hate the fight. Can't fault Joshua for handling mandatories, and Pulev won't be his won't be his worst opposition. Waiting on the Wilder/Fury winner without any fights in between would put him out of the ring for a long time, and right now he wants to be building some momentum.

I don't see why anyone would argue with Joshua vs Ruiz 3, did everyone forget that Ruiz finished AJ in their first fight and won a UD in the rematch, wouldn't that signify a 3rd and final fight?

Because there is no need to make trilogies out of Ruizes and Ortizes. Simple as that. We need fresh blood.
