Canelo has to get creative with his matchmaking

Assuming he doesn't go back down to 160 for the Charlo fight he has to get creative. Smith and Saunders aren't fights that intrigue the public. Hardcores yes. The general public, no. Kovalev intrigued the public because even though most of us thought Canelo would win there were still unknowns like how will Canelo handle Kovalev's power. Floyd could sell fights where he was a big betting favorite. Canelo isn't a salesman like that. The matchup has to sell the fight.

Will GGG come up to 168 or will he want a catch-weight? GGG vs Canelo at 168 would be intriguing. At 160 it's not that intriguing. I'm still of the belief the Charlo fight will happen but haven't heard anything new except if Canelo turns down the fight the WBA will strip him and Eubank will be elevated and fight Charlo in a unification.

He's going to go to 168. Doubt he can make 160 that well anymore (ironic since 2 years ago his fans were screaming that his fights had to be at 155 because he was so small. Besides the point) He won't fight Plant, Plants style is cancer to Canelo. He can pretty much fight whoever he wants though. His groupies and promoters will do their jobs. He's getting that big DAZN money regardless.

He'll probably fight Smith. They can really work that Ring belt/lineal championship into it, and Smith looked ****ing awful against John Ryder. Smith isn't that good, but his win over Groves is. Plus, Canelo already beat his brother. You can promote that. Smith is tall. You know how Canelo groupies love to latch onto the heights of Canelos opponents to make him look like a god.

I'd be shocked if that fight is held in Vegas. His last two fights against foreigners who aren't based in America were held outside Vegas

Plant? What about Saunders. Doesn't Saunders have the same style?

Since moving up to 168 Saunders has looked like a punching bag. He looked slick at 160, but no. It looks like he might be trying that style still though.

Saunders barely trained for his last fight. Keep that in mind. Obviously he would take a Canelo fight seriously. All the Canelo haters have been saying for years that Canelo would never fight Saunders because of his style so lesse what happens.

I said the day he said he was skipping his September date to try to fight Kovalev that he was done with 160 forever and I still believe that. I think Canelo will fight Saunders or Callum Smith because they both looked lousy almost losing to big underdogs. Canelo will not fight Jermall. He could have fought him long ago but he didn't and that won't change. He won't fight GGG at 160 or 168. Why do you say GGG vs Canelo at 168 is intriguing at 168 but not that intriguing at 160. That is a weird statement that makes no sense at all. They are the same two boxers who are the same size give or take a pound so what difference does it make if they fight at 160, 164, 168 or 172?. Canelo won[t fight him anyway at any weight. It will be Canelo vs Saunders or Callum Smith next in my opinion and Canelo is too good for either of them.

Canelo needs challenges to get up for. The only real threat is Beterbiev. Lets be honest. Canelo can make 160 , maybe a tight window but he can do it. He will beat down Charlo, Too active for Andrade. Too active for Saunders, Too quick for Smith. Too Tough for Plant. Bivol could be interesting. GGG is older but i think he still gives better than any of these dudes outside of Beterbiev and maybe Bivol.

I want Benavidez... that fight would be SICK !

would Saunders be the most well-known super middleweight...?

I think Saunders could get the nod over the other titlists at 168

other than Golovkin, would Andrade be the most well-known middleweight?

is Ramirez well-known enough to warrant a Mexican showdown?

good point... there are plenty of options, just not sure how many are realistic

I don't think Canelo would even discuss that with Golovkin at this point

if Golovkin was offered that fight, it will happen wherever Canelo decides

I think that Golovkin would receive a take-it-or-leave-it offer

man I would love a Benavidez fight

canelo doesnt have to sell fights anymore, he gets paid regardless... DAZN has to sell the fights... canelo is at a point where he can fight to satasfy no one other than him self, he has done great so far when it comes to oposition, and he will likely continue doing the same...
