Why go to MMA if she can make lightweight... Even welterweight. The competition in women's boxing goes up significantly as you go down in weight. Part of why she has been so successful I'd imagine.

I’m confused by this article, maybe someone can clarify. Shields said she will make her debut in mma by the end of the year and that she looked forward to throwing some elbows, but than a couple of paragraphs later her team is saying it would have to be a boxing match?

they just want to lure nunes into a boxing match because they would obviously lose in mma. its smart because no one cares about womens boxing but womens mma is somewhat popular and they headline ppv cards etc...if she can beat a tomato can in the mma and call out nunes while offering her a lot of money maybe it works.
