I would send him to rehab so he can get his life together and worry about him boxing again in 2021.

If you were managing Spence, how would you handle his return?

Fight a bum or faded champ ala Crawford like Eurobum Mean Machine, Amir Khan, or peg legged Jose Benavidez for a tune up.
Then a Danny Garcia or Thurman fight. Then Pacquiao. I would make Crawford fight an elite welterweight before he got a shot vs Spence. You shouldn't be able to be no draw and fight that trash of a resume only to get a shot vs the unified top dog.

Definitely a tune up in his first fight. I was upset to hear in his interview he talked about not wanting a tune up.
Whatever happens next should be gauged by his performance in the tuneup. I definitely wouldn’t want him to hit the ground running against Bud, Shawn, Danny, Keith, Manny or Ugas.
Anything else would be acceptable imo.

Spence said he is ok. More importantly his doctors cleared him to fight. What more do you want a guarantee from Jesus Christ

Do you remember that he has a mandatory against a no-name fighter? Let him use it as a tune-up fight.
If he looks good and feels the same, fight Crawford. What's the hold up?
If not, wrap it up and call it a career or cash out and sell the belts.

And I don't particularly rank Swift all that highly but there's no doubt he's a tough outing for anyone in the division... if Errol ain't fully back to his old self a fight with Danny will definitely show it.Originally posted by Born X Raised View Post1st fight back - Antonio DeMarco - former champ at lower weight that shouldn’t be able to hurt him one bit
2nd fight back - Robert Guerrero or Josesito Lopez - Guys with names that might be able to last if Spence is damaged goods but should get stopped if Spence is fine

Again....His Manager knows. He knows. And His DOCTOR has given him a CBH! Clean bill of health! So instead of sticking him on the tit. Get him ready for the fight of his life.
A bum tune up can go all wrong. And sometimes often there is no coming back from that physiologically. If that happens the Manager Promoters all lose a income maker.
If he loses to a top fighter there are rematches in the contracts that can take play. Always more money. And there is no shame losing to a top fighter as it is losing to a bun tune fighter.
