Unfortunately flyweights don’t shift tickets. He could easily be in a similar position to Shakur if he had the same promotional backing.

How’s it going mate? And yeah I don’t blame him if the money is better, I really liked the look of Nico in the Olympics though, definitely talented enough to compete at world level.
Good but have been real busy with work. Yea I agree he looked like a good prospect, buts its tough to make it as an American Flyweight. He would have been much better off if he had been born in Mexico or PR or even Japan. With his name its sounds like he has some Latino blood, but they tend to root for national's over Latino Americans. Hopefully for the kid he will win, and get some exposure and return to boxing with a little juice behind him. Just not sure how much attention he will get from this new "sport". Good to hear from you, and hope you had a great holiday season!!

Luckily for me, I get time off over Christmas, back in now though.

And yeah he really impressed me at Rio, I thought/think he has world title potential.

As you say hopefully this gives him some momentum and a decent pay day.

You already have. The result was Paulie taking a loss to a guy with a negative MMA record and no boxing pedigree.

Yea I love the way you guys over in UK get those long "holidays". With my small business its 24/7 365 except when I want to pay someone to cover me, and then I have to pay to train them. My last "back up" just retired and is wintering in Florida right now lol. Looking forward to seeing Boots Ennis finally getting a little step up fight tonight. I think if this kid has the dedication and at least a decent chin he will be a future PFP player. Have you had a chance to check him out? If so what you think of the kid?

Is there really going to be more competition at flyweight in bare knuckle? Why not just try to make a name internationally or in Japan or something?

Paulie lost on the cards before the fight even started...

Wouldnt doubt he got over a million to do this. Even with a Hispanic last name and Olympic pedigree itd take a while for a Flyweight to make 1mil so I dont blame him. He just needs to take care of his hands.

Get a nasty cut that could limit his boxing career by being an ongoing issue.

I like BKFC for what it is. A place for non-boxers with fighting skills & a place for older or journeymen combat sport athletes to extend their careers &/or make some extra money.

It seems a bad idea for a young cat with skills to go somewhere like Nico. If he needs money ASAP doe this is one way to go about it.

Idk about a mill. That seems a lil steep. But I'd bet its much better money then hes seeing in boxing at this stage.

Can't imagine there will be. They are still in the US where lil mfers aren't in abundance like other countries.

And yea I've considered your theory to about just going to another country to fight. Believe some smaller weight fighters have done this to some success in the past. I imagine for most cats its just seen as a bridge to far since you gotta ditch your team & basically start over in a new less known area which many aren't gonna be a fan of doing.

Paulie lost on the cards before the fight even started...
No he didn't. The fight was close.

The thing most boxing people don't get with scoring outside of boxing in the combat sport genre is defense isn't rewarded & aggression, not necessary even effective aggression, is rewarded. And to me thats why Paulie lost the fight.
