It would be intersting to see what the numbers were for dazn USA since Ruiz pushed the needle for dazn in the USA and dazn’s advertising leading up to the fight was all Ruiz’centric as was the deal with Pizza Patron...which for the foreigners was a deal dazn had for subscribers to get a free pizza from the most ****** pizza place in America that seems to only be in inner city Mexican, salvadorian, and Nicaraguan areas.
Also, this looks EXTREMELY bad for Canelo Alvarez WBO was supposed to be the top needle mover at dazn....but again, the Dazn USA numbers are needed, it’s dazn USA where most of the budget is going and seemingly where the dazn originated product is coming from. I would have to think that if the numbers were great they would have posted them.
Espn, FOX, Showtime, etc don’t post global numbers of who watched their fights, nor do they post global numbers of their ppv’s here on boxingscene

because of the embarrassment/upset factor of the first one....if it weren't for that it was not a big event....AJ got upset and embarrassed by a replacement underdog....people wanted to watch out of intrigue to see if it would happen again

and to be honest I don't think AJ won any new fans with his performance....just being honest...yes it did big numbers and was a big event....but without the shock of the first fight its just ho hum....
no sheet. without the shock of the first fight the rematch wouldn’t have even taken place smh

to think some app with Ruiz did 3x the views of Tank vs Gamboa on showtime a premium cable channel.

To be fair though they show about 70 different football leagues and cups across all its territories. Compared to 7 boxing promotions.

Are we comparing showtime numbers in the USA to DAZN global? Do we have Joshua Ruiz 2 numbers strictly for USA?

But still, everyone else almost doubles boxing.

People love to see bullies humiliated. Andy put Goliath on his ass. Don't think that didn't make a lot of people happy. AJ has gained a new audience, watching for him to do the rubber leg dance again.

Without any official numbers I don't understand how you can make this statement.

They streamed it in Canada and Japan only. I don't know how big football (soccer) is in Canada, but I know the game as a whole, and the EUFA Champions League in particular, is very popular in Japan. The UK Premier League is also big in Japan, and this years EUFA Champions League final was between 2 Premiership clubs, so I would think it got a lot of viewers over there.

So AJ/Ruiz 2 beating it isn't as big an achievement as I first thought, but still impressive.
Thank you for this. I read the article carefully and without the numbers I just can't make a real determination.

If the streamed in just Canada and Japan, then we need to know how many of the remaining 7.2 mil subs (8 mil-800k in the US) are in those 2 countries and then what percentage viewed.

Quick math (not exact)-7.2 mil/ 8 countries is an average of 900k per country. If every person watched in Japan and Canada, that would mean AJ/Ruiz was watched by over 1.8 mil.

Lets say it was watched by 1.9 million people out of the 8 mill subs. Is a 25% viewer rate good? I guess that is for each individual to decide.

We kept hearing how streaming numbers are so low overall. Hell you add in tanks streaming and replay numbers and he still didn’t do half the numbers that AJ did on streaming only platform
