So Arum hasn't been truthful to Crawford.

Bud was going off on his Twitter rant and Errol finally chimed in.

Crawford then wanted Errol to call him

After that phone call and Errol told him what was really going on then everything was good

Remember Bob said they personally contacted Angel Garcia to offer him a fight because they were afraid the offer wouldn't get to him from Al? (More to that story I can't say right now) That's deflection because that's what they do. Don't forget just last year they tried to go behind Al and Sampson's back and steal Benavidez.

Another thing is Bob has been telling Bud that Spence is hurt and may not ever fight again. Telling him that because he's not trying to make the fight. That's why he's telling Spence to heal up when Spence has repeatedly said he's healed and ready to go.

Bud is under a lot of pressure. Fans and media on him about his resume and nobody to fight. ESPN complaining about the numbers he's pulling. Seeing Spence pass by him in terms of popularity. Bud feels that should be him. Look at where Bud was in 2016 and where Bud was. Bud was ahead of him and now Spence has passed him. Of course Bud is upset. He's made some bad decisions staying with people who doesn't see him the way he sees himself in his head.

Bob has offered to do the fight under an identical arrangement used for Wilder vs. Fury.

Shared PPV with 50/50 split, loser can force rematch, with winner getting 60/40 in the rematch in another shared PPV.

But why would PBC ever do that? Spence is the unified champion and is a much bigger draw right now than Crawford. Spence has already had two successful PPVs. Both of Crawford's PPVs flopped in a major way.

Bob knows there's no way this fight gets done at 50/50. It's just a way to kill the fight.

That's not going to happen unless Bud fights a guy they can put on PPV and do similar numbers to Spence. Arum has already said he's not doing another Bud PPV unless he fights Spence. How can he demand 50/50 and a network PPV split when he needs the other guy to even do a PPV?

Right. That's why the whole thing is a waste of time. Even 60/40 would be very generous towards Crawford. I'm not even sure PBC would do 60/40.

And the fight isn't big enough to justify a joint PPV.

Looks to me like both guys actually want the fight which is a good starting point. Question is partly how much they both want it, it is a kinda legacy fight for both I think, and also probably the biggest fight either can make from a finacial standpoint, but it's quite possible Spence can earn a similar amount as an A side against someone else as he could on a 50/50 against Bud.

OTOH Bud's a prideful dude and in terms of accomplishments is way ahead of Errol, irrespective of his drawing power. Hard to see him willing to play second fiddle. A sense of fairness is a very real driving force in any mans decision making and it ain't always just about the money.

The third factor, of course, is the future. Neither right now is a huge draw or real crossover, though Spence is closer... possibly neither of 'em will ever make that leap - for sure neither of 'em is ever gonna reach FMJ levels - but for either to make a real breakthrough in popularity to the next level it could be argued that they need each other, so either, or both, could see this as an investment in the future and be more willing to bend on the split now to reap the longer term rewards.
