    Hard to create new stars without them beating old stars. Kovalev shut out Bernard Hopkins to unify three world championships. There's nobody really for Beterbiev to beat that would give him that kind of rub.

      True. Then unification is a must for him to at least cement himself as the #1 guy in that division.

        Kovalev was never really a draw either. He couldn't even sell out small arenas.

              He was well known enough in the end to collect that bumper DAZN cheque. But I agree though, his profile could have been even higher, poor promotion by Duva and Top Rank meant that he missed out on some really big money.
