Is Jermall Charlo worth paying $7 million to?

He's still considered an undercard fighter when you think about the kind of opponents he's taking in the 160 division. Nobody even knows if he finally got his first $1 million even after finally allowed to headline fights. Last time I checked, he got $500K in the JRock fight. Oh yeah, his purses were always publicized back then, but mysteriously withheld thereafter.

Well, Canelo certainly has a proven track record of being able to fill arenas, get high tv ratings, and sell PPVs.

Based on that he easily deserves to be paid 5 times better. It's logical.

I agree. not just that but the level of opposition canelos faced compared to Charlo is night and day, justifying in my mind the higher pays.

He's main evented his last two cards, but is he really making that much $$$? How many PBC fighters are receiving 5+ million for one fight? Only guys making that are probably the PPV main eventers.

If he doesn't take this particular offer, it speaks more about his loyalty to Haymon/PBC than anything else. It reminds me when Quillin dropped his belt and didn't face Korobov for what would've supposedly been his highest purse, just because it was ROC Nation that won the purse bid. Lee replaces him and wins the fight, thus making Quillin looking ******. Quillin's career played out exactly the way it deserved to for trying to be slick. All of these fighters want to game the system as much as they can, but there's only so many times before you get found out and the ring has a way of exposing all the bull****.

Personally, I think the righteous move is to make Charlo/Andrade happen. Whether Jermall takes the offer and fights on DAZN or his team makes a counter-offer and Andrade fights on FOX. Curt Hennig has a point about Andrade not getting the DAZN names, so ultimately Charlo should be over-paid a bit if that's what is necessary. This fight needs to happen, and I think Jermall is being short-sighted if he doesn't at least try to make it happen.
