I used to be a Kell Brook fan. Eddie Hearns cashed Kell in against Gennady Golovkin, and his career nose-dived thereafter. He is totally shot now, doesn't have it in him to beat a prime World-level fighter or contender. He is looking for one final big payday, and he simply doesn't deserve it. He is not interested in taking dangerous, 50/50 fights where he won't make millions. Fighting Liam Smith would be a horrible fight to watch, think Liam would beat Kell at this point and nobody in the UK wants to see that trash. The Smiths are nowhere near as popular as the promoters and media try to make them out to be. I wouldn't put it past Eddie Hearns to try to put such a fight on PPV, but no doubt in my mind it would bomb.

Kell Brook is a great fighter. He hurt his body taking on two bigger and stronger fighters in a row - in GGG and Spence (and let's not forget he got in the ring with Porter just prior). Not many people knew what Spence was about at the time that fight was made. I knew Spence was dangerous.....and it showed when he destroyed Brooks eye socket. I applaud Brook for wanting to take on challenges....but he took two bad fights in a row. He should fire his management. They helped destroy his body and career. He'll probably never be the same. And it's unfortunate. He was a great fighter.Comment

Brook’s a funny one, loads of talent as he showed in beating Porter, but seemingly not the desire or application to make the most of it. He’s either been badly managed and advised, or made some really poor decisions himself (particularly around the GGG fight) and chasing the Khan fight seems to have ruined his career.Comment

Selling in the UK doesn't mean anything though, they'd sell out to watch two "good kids from the pub" go 10 rounds.Comment

Brook's in danger of being remembered for his 'heroic' beating vs Golovkin rather than taking Shawn Porter's strap. Was doing okay with Spence before he got his face broke so I wouldn't stick the boot in over that.Comment
