I was at the fight. Mikey was very sharp that night and in person Mikey was the far bigger fighter. Salido did what he always did in pressuring no matter how hard he got hit. The head but was bad but Salido's pressure was starting to get to Mikey. Not that he was going to beat him but Salido simply was not going away even when he got hurt.

I don't know because he was the star they listened to Robert when he asked to stop the fight because of the broken nose. Just as the fight was getting more interesting the clash of head happened.

Marque'z nose was broken in the last Pacquiao fight and was taking a beating but. chose to go on and won the fight.
Abraham Arthur a broken jaw and finished the fight.
Margarito had his eye socket broken to pieces against Pac. but continued to fight he didn't want the fight to be stopped. some fighters rather go out on their shields than quitting. ( to me is ******. we are talking about their health here)

Mikey doesn't seem to have that type of mentality.. he wanted his brother to quit for him.

He quit for sure. Yes he probably would have gone on to win, but it was still a ***** move.

It's absurd to expect Mikey in his first title fight to defy his corner and the officials by insisting on continuing in a fight he had been dominating. That fight had actually been so one sided many people thought Salido was shot and didn't give Mikey full credit for his performance which in retrospect is a highly underrated win.
I agree 1000%. And I don't even think Salido won one round.

That is a different circumstance. Had Marquez and his corner decided to call off the fight, Pacquiao would have been awarded a 5th round TKO because the broken nose was caused by a punch. One was caused a by clean punch, the other was caused by a blatant headbutt in order to gain an advantage.

You can learn a lot from a person by just listening to what they say and watching what they do. This applies to Mikey AND his "fans".

Mikey Garcia quit period. The going got tough and he was offered an easy out and guess what? He took it. It's literally a common trend his whole career.

The same guys who are complaining about Salido being dirty and giving Mikey a pass are the same people who give criticize Lomachenko in his 2nd pro fight for losing a SD to an overweight Salido who starting fouling from the opening bell.

              Think about that OP.

How different is it from Junior quitting from a headbutt broken nose a couple weeks ago?

The only goofballs who think Mikey quit are Lomachenko fans.

Mikey beat the absolute s**t out of Salido, was knocking him down with every other punch and didn’t lose a round.

Lomachenko went life and death with Salido in a close fight. He happened to lose and his fans have hated Mikey Garcia ever since.

Mikey Garcia and Lomachenko were both 26 years old when they fought Salido too.
