Loma vs Lopez already agreed proves critics were wrong about Loma

Salido 2nd fight, GRJ 3rd fight, Walters, Rigo offered fights at 126 and 130, Campbell in UK, now Lopez. Zero belts ever vacated to avoid anyone.

It took Loma and Lopez days to agree to a fight. Mikey, Tank, Al Haymon fighters in general, it takes half a decade or more.

This should prove once and for all, Loma and the like are carrying boxing, while Haymon and many of his fighters are ruining it. People argued for a long time, was Pac ducking Floyd, was Floyd ducking, was it Arum, was it Al, was Loma at fault or Mikey, Loma or Tank, Kovalev or Stevenson, etc etc etc.

This shows again, it's always Al Haymon. Am I defending Bob and his bigoted comments about white UFC fans, or his BS only making one good fight at 175 all frickin year, or the other fights he's ruined... no. Bob is bad for the sport, but at least he will make some good fights on time with top guys, even cross-promotion. I just want to point out the latest example that Al and his fighters are at the core of the sport's issues more than anyone else.

With that said, from the outside it all seems like one corrupt, staged club. Someone has to play the villain, maybe that role simply falls on Al and his fighters. The whole sport needs to be revamped, not just Al. But within that, he is the biggest culprit, and this should prove once and for all that everyone who criticized Loma or questioned his willingness to fight the best instead of the guys ducking him had it backwards. This shows how avoided he was by Mikey and Tank and so on.

Hopefully if Loma beats Teofimo, he jumps to 147 already. The Campbell fight proved that with the right Mexican beef, Loma can handle bigger longer opponents and dominate 147. I didn't think so before, but the more I learn about the sport, the more I realize anyone can beat anyone at any weight if there's enough money in it and the fans believe what they're seeing.

Both fighters are with Top rank, makes it easier to make. Haymon makes all the fights that can be made within PBC stable too. Porter/Spence unified in 2019, Pac/Thurman happened etc

I have never had an issue with that aspect of things, I just want cross-promotional fights between rival promoters and currently only PBC tries not to play ball (With their bigger name boxers - when money is better for them from the other sides too)..... That’s my only issue with them.

First of all, Lopez ain’t on Loma’s level. Loma has also grown a class naturally since the GRJ days considering he was draining for those fights.

Lopez just bringing flashy spar sessions into the pro ring. When he levels up with elites you will see a difference, and this is always the case for in-house matchmaking and strategies to build stars.

Assume Lopez has been built for Loma. Not the other way around.

Has nothing to do with Haymon and his in-house fighting

If you think Al Haymon is the biggest problem in boxing I don't think you understand the problems boxing has. Boxing didn't get f#cked up when Al entered the game. The sport was f#cked up when Al came into it. If anything Al has shown how you don't need a promoter to have as much power as they have taken in the last several decades to make fights & sell PPV's.

You can’t post zero belts vacated to avoid anyone and be taken seriously.

Look, I get that Loma is a great fighter. His resume is solid and his accomplishments notable. That stated, he asked for the emeritus designation to avoid having to make the mando. Just call it straight.

I think the problem is you and others always put this stuff in the context of “good” and “bad” even though you admit one fighter might be “playing the role of the villain”.

When the guy you have labeled “good” does something wrong, you should just call them on it even though you don’t think a “good” person would behave in that fashion.

When the guys you have labeled “bad” do things, you shouldn’t just automatically criticize it.

All of these men are prize fighters so they are all doing this to make as much money as possible. That means for ALL of them, even the good guys, they are going to make decisions that have a negative impact on the sport. This goes for emeritus designations, avoiding ped tests, etc etc.

That this fight was done so quickly is because Arum had a plan, not because Loma is any more willing to fight than anyone else.

Moving forward maybe it’s best to separate how a fighter chooses to market himself to make money from how we judge the actions they take.

Humble guys hurt the sport just as much as arrogant guys help it.

Haymon just an egotistical loser that found his niche to obtain fighters. When Byrd or Forrest were on HBO those times were prosperous for boxing. Perhaps Haymon didn’t like the short end of the stick affiliated from his brother or guys like Forrest or Byrd not having priority marketing on HBO, and when Forrest was gone, Haymon needed something else to exploit.

Along comes Mayweather and Haymon becomes richer than ever. In reality Haymon is Don King revised 2.0. Not as gangsta, but savy with roster mgmt and exploitation.

I get it. Mainstream American sports is mainly Black and White. NBA all black for good reason, the All African-American sport which ironically was founded differently. Not a bad thing, just evolved. Then the NFL is mixed, but strong as well with black athletes, naturally.

So when Haymon talks to these execs, that’s the narrative playbook he can use to sell his portfolio because there’s always an audience for Black American athletes. This is why some PBc fighters play the part knowing this. They want to provide their families and know fully well with the politics that Haymon coaches them to say because of rival networks.

Haymon saying he could run HBO better was just a chip on his shoulder after Forrest and Byrd. RJJ, Foreman, Ward, these were solid commentators in the network. It’s about Trust
