I remember Wayne McCullough taking a sustained beating at the hands of Scott Harrison some years ago. Not the worst I've ever seen but it still stands out in the mind nearly twenty years later. McCullough's chin was a bit too good for his own good that night.
What was the worst beating you ever seen a boxer take who wasn't KO'ed in the fight?

Margarito / Cotto 1.
I was sitting behind Cottos family watching them crying from the start of the 11th round until the stoppage.Last edited by Idunnoshet; 12-31-2019, 04:40 PM.Comment

OP must be a noob, Mikey was humilliated in that fight, but barely took damage. Mikey realized he couldn't win in the early rounds, he basically gave up and his goal after that was to last the distance, he fought mostly defensively the rest of the night and that's why he wasn't KO'd or hurt. It's hard to KO a skilled fighter that is just there to survive.
Pac-Margarito on the other hand was utterly brutal because of Margo's lack of defense and never-say-die attitude. Margo would rather die in the ring than giving up, and that's why he took a ferocious beatdown that ruined his career. Pac's destruction of Margo was so thorough that it produced two victories, one for him and one for Cotto after that fight
that's why he was begging for a fight with Wlad afterwards
He schooled Lacy and took his soul that night yeah. but he didn't give him a "terrible beating" because Calzaghe punches like a girl. Lacy was never in danger of being KO'dLast edited by lopetego; 12-31-2019, 01:16 PM.Comment

I think it's already been mentioned, but Gatti-Ward 1 comes to mind immediately. My ribs hurt just thinking about it. Plus you get the fact that they went into an immediate rematch, and then a third - all bruisers that went the distance.Comment

because the referee stopped the fight after Canelo landed a nasty combo in that round that didn't drop of hurt Angulo too much, apparently
those dumbasses don't realize, it's not an "early stoppage" if you've been beaten from pillar to post for 10 rounds. If more referees acted like this, we'd have less deaths in boxingComment
