Comments Thread For: BoxingScene.com 2019 Prospect Of the Year - Vergil Ortiz Jr.

It cost him a showcase slot on the undercard of Saul Canelo' Alvarez's first career appearance...

      Congratulation to Vergil Ortiz.
What a year this guy has had, can't wait to see him mix it up with a few top dogs in 2020.
Ortiz and Ennis are going to flip some chit if they can get the big fights next year.

Cong**** to Ortiz. I'm glad his team plan to keep raising the bar in 2020. Hes 15-0 all by KO so theres no reason not to.

Can't complain at that. Vergil has looked absolutely sensational this year. Sure you can quibble about the level of competition but honestly once he gets beyond the level of a Solomon or Orozco you ain't talking about a prospect any more but a legit contender.

I have no doubt in my mind that this kid is gonna be major force at 147 and 154 over the next few years and given his age might even fill out to 160 in time

                  Ortiz is the truth

Ennis needs to sign with a major network ASAP. At 24-0 with 22 ko's he should be getting more exposure.
